Healthy Mothers, Babies , Communities - MBRC

Our mothers and babies are dying!

What can we do to change that? Listen to this interview and conversation-style podcast featuring local, state and national experts on the health of mothers and babies.

We will talk to professionals and to individuals who care about having healthier babies and healthier mothers. We will share stories of birthing people and their families.

We want to change the terrible statistics that show that babies and mothers in the USA are more likely to die at birth or before the first year than most industrialized nations!!!!!

What is causing this issue? Some will say that the lack of a universal health care model is to blame. Certainly some women are hesitate to come for prenatal or preconception care because of the financial costs. Some will say that it is a lack of access to care because of geography. Others will say that it is because of structural racism. And , there are some, who will lay all of the blame at the feet of the mothers.

Maternal and infant mortality can be caused by any one, none or all of the above. Most frightening and discouraging is the fact that so many people are unaware that there IS A PROBLEM! If you don't know a problem exists you cannot fix it.
